Today in our wonderful Natural Expression class at CMS we decided to create our own personal milk jug greenhouses. The idea is that the seeds will freeze and then stratify so then we will have wonderful germinated seeds next spring. We used our own native Milkweed seeds that we harvested from our campus in the fall. The first step was to cut a milk jug in half, next we added soil, seeds, and a little water (we made sure to cut filtration holes in the bottom so that precipitation can filter naturally through the jug). Our final step was to tape it shut with the cap off. We then left it in the snow of our courtyard with high hopes we will have germinated seeds and small Milkweed plants to plant in the Spring.
