Presentation proposals due October 6!
Who should attend?
K-12 teachers and staff, school administrators, employees and members of nonprofit organizations interested in education and/or environmental issues, private-sector partners engaged with local education, education and environmental policy makers and staff, faculty and staff of higher education, and members of the philanthropic community.
Why should I attend?
This conference arose-and continues to grow-from a commitment to place-based stewardship education in the Great Lakes. No other event in our region brings people together in the name of expanding classrooms to include what is local, and educating young people in the local community, for the benefit of the local community and the environment.
Attendees leave this conference every year with new ideas, tools, and tips on how to make place-based education work for them. If you care about powerful teaching and learning, if you strive to help children connect and apply academic learning to real life, this is the event for you.
Where can I find details about attending and lodging?
Information about the conference and hotel accommodations can be found on our website. A fixed number of discounted hotel rooms are available, but only for a limited time. To save on lodging costs, book your room by October 21.
All of us at the Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative are very excited about this event and we can’t wait to see you there! For more information on the conference, visit www.glstewardship.org/About/Conference.aspx.
